Art on Canvas for Kids started in Sydney in 2018 with five students and one big idea: creativity helps children believe in themselves. It builds confidence, sparks imagination and strengthens persistence—life skills that reach far beyond the art room.
We’ve grown since then, but our purpose hasn’t changed. We want students to leave every class standing a little taller—proud of their progress, confident in their choices and excited by what they can do. Every project is a chance to explore, solve problems and bring an idea to life.
Meet the people bringing big ideas to life.
Jenny | Head of Creative Practice & Learning
Jenny brings more than 40 years of experience as a graphic designer, art director and practising artist. Her career began as a Junior Art Director in advertising and grew through roles across a range of creative agencies and design studios.
With a strong background in drawing, painting, illustration and design, Jenny brings practical knowledge and creative insight to every class. She plays an important role in shaping our program, supporting our teaching team and encouraging students to explore their ideas with confidence.
For Jenny, the most rewarding part is seeing young artists develop their skills and feel genuinely proud of what they create.
Eva | Lead Curriculum Designer
Eva is a Hungarian art teacher and practising artist from Serbia. She holds a Master of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Art Education from the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad.
Before moving to Sydney in 2022, Eva taught art in schools and spent 20 years at the Centre for Art Education of Children and Youth of Vojvodina in Serbia, leading workshops, competitions and exhibitions for children aged 5 to 15.
A painter and printmaker inspired by nature, Eva brings decades of experience and genuine enthusiasm to every class.
Kim | Senior Artist-Educator
Kim joined Art on Canvas in 2022, bringing a wide range of creative experience to the team. She is the Art Director of three magazines, runs her own graphic design business and works as a portrait photographer.
With degrees in Fine Arts and Visual Communication, Kim helps students build practical skills, explore new techniques and see art from a broader creative perspective. She encourages every student to approach their work with curiosity and confidence.
Her favourite medium is watercolour, and one of her greatest artistic influences is Wassily Kandinsky.
Anoushay | Senior Artist-Educator
Anoushay brings together art, design, illustration and early childhood education. With a Bachelor of Art and Design, a qualification in Early Childhood Education and experience as a custom illustrator, she understands both the creative process and how young minds learn best.
Her classes are hands-on, engaging and full of room for new ideas. Working across a range of mediums, Anoushay helps students try new things, build confidence and create work that feels like their own.
Noor | Senior Artist-Educator
Noor is a Design Management graduate with a creative background spanning painting, calligraphy, digital media and graphic design. She loves bringing different techniques together and showing students that there is more than one way to turn an idea into something real.
At Art on Canvas, Noor encourages young artists to experiment, develop focus and feel confident in their creative choices. For her, the best part is watching each student’s imagination take shape and seeing their skills grow with every project.
Tahlia | Operations Support & Senior Artist-Educator
Tahlia holds a Master of Media and Communication, completed in Australia. Before joining Art on Canvas, she spent eight years working in media—experience she now brings to the creative and operational sides of the program.
Tahlia grew up in Thailand, later lived in China and Japan, and now calls Australia home. Experiencing life across different countries has given her a deep appreciation for art from many cultures and the different ways people bring ideas, colour and stories to life.
As both an educator and a parent, Tahlia wants students to leave every class feeling proud, capable and excited to create again.
